QUATA Digital Enterprise is a Cameroon-registered payments company. We move XAF on the rails Cameroonians actually use — MTN, Orange, banks, agents — without making them swap between four apps to do it.

Our mission
Three out of four adults in Cameroon use mobile money. None of them should need to bounce between four apps to pay an electricity bill while topping up airtime and sending pocket money to a cousin in Yaoundé. That's what we're here to fix.
QuataPay was founded in Bamenda in 2024 by a small team who'd spent a decade building payment systems for banks and fintechs across CEMAC. We had a shared frustration: every product that touches Cameroonian wallets was either built somewhere else and retrofitted to this market, or built here but with feature gaps you only notice at the counter on market day.
So we built one that started here. Every choice — the languages in the app, the channels we plug into, the bills we integrate, the agent commission split — was made by people who actually use mobile money for everyday life. Then we opened it up to merchants, agents, institutions, and developers.
Today we operate under the CEMAC payments framework with a regulated partner-bank model. Customer funds are held with a regulated bank; we hold the operating ledger; the regulator gets a clean line of sight to both.
What we believe
Wallet-to-wallet stays free, forever. Our business is the rails between the wallets and the world, not the wallets themselves.
Funds with a regulated partner bank. KYC tiers that scale with the limits. Audits on a quarterly cadence.
Cameroon-specific bill integrations, NIU verification, French/English first-class, MTN+Orange parity from day one.
Ship every two weeks. Every release is admin-toggleable so a bad rollout can be rolled back without redeploy.
Flat 1.5% merchant settlement. Free P2P. The full schedule lives at /legal/fees — no asterisks, no upsell.
Support is local, in EN + FR, responding in business hours. Every founder spends one day a quarter on customer tickets.
Compliance + trust
Payments is a regulated industry. We treat it that way.
Customer funds are held in a segregated account with a regulated bank. Our balance sheet never touches your wallet balance.
We operate under the Central African Economic and Monetary Community's payments framework. BEAC is the central bank we report to.
Three KYC tiers (basic, standard, premium) with limits that scale up. Premium tier requires NIU + proof of address + proof of income.
Velocity rules, geographic checks, sanctioned-party screening on every onboarding and large transfer. Suspicious activity reports filed via the standard channel.
Compliant with Cameroon's Law on Cybersecurity and Personal Data Protection. PII encrypted at rest. Right-to-delete honoured within 30 days.
Quarterly internal audit; annual external audit by a Cameroon-licensed firm. Material changes disclosed to the regulator and customers.

A senior team that's been on every side of the table — building, regulating, banking — across CEMAC's payments ecosystem.
Engineering
Half the team has shipped at a mobile money operator or a regulated fintech in CEMAC.
Operations
Former bank ops, former MNO ops. The people who know how cash actually moves.
Compliance
Ex-regulator and ex-AML lead from a tier-one Cameroon bank. The serious people.
We don't list individual team members publicly for security reasons. Press and partnership enquiries — please use the contact form.
“A Cameroon-grown payments product that actually understands market-day liquidity. We've not seen the agent commission split done this transparently before.”
