You don't need the app or a password to start. We'll email a code to the address on the account, and you confirm from here.

Which QuataPay account?

We'll email a 6-digit code to this address to check it's really you. We reply the same way whether or not the address is registered, so nobody can use this page to find out who banks with us.

What happens when you confirm

Straight away

Your account is locked. Nobody can sign in to it, and it stops appearing as a person you can send money to.

For 30 days

You can undo it. Sign in on the cancellation page with your email and password and the account comes back exactly as it was.

After 30 days

Your name, email address, phone number and username are permanently erased. This cannot be undone.

What we keep, and why

A few records outlive the account they came from. They are kept because the law says they must be — not because we want them — and they are never used to market to you or to rebuild your profile.

  • Transaction and settlement records

    Financial records must be retained for the statutory accounting and anti-money-laundering period. After the erasure they carry an anonymous account reference, not your name.

  • Identity documents you submitted for KYC

    Cameroon Law 2024/017 sets a minimum retention period for verified identity records. We cannot delete these before it expires, even at your request.

  • Our internal audit log

    A tamper-evident record of who did what, including this deletion. It is what protects you if a payment is ever disputed.

We'll refuse while you still have money with us

Erasing an account we still owe money to would leave nobody to pay, so we stop and tell you exactly what to clear. You'll see a message naming the specific reason if any of these apply:

  • Your wallet, card, agent float or merchant balance is not zero
  • A cash-out, payout or settlement is still being processed
  • A card is still active — close it first
  • An escrow payment has not been released
  • A dispute or a transaction is still in progress

Withdraw what you're owed, wait for anything in flight to finish, then come back here. Nothing about your request is lost.
